Project Summary:
Zanzibar Rising is a community-driven empowerment initiative focused on building resilient, self-sustaining communities in rural and underserved parts of Zanzibar. This project will focus on three main pillars: Education, Economic Empowerment, and Environmental Sustainability. Through grassroots collaboration, skills training, youth and women empowerment programs, and sustainable infrastructure development, Zanzibar Rising aims to uplift lives — one step at a time.
Objectives:
- Empower Local Youth and Women through vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and mentorship programs.
- Improve Education Access by renovating schools, providing learning materials, and digital literacy programs.
- Promote Environmental Sustainability through tree planting, waste management training, and eco-friendly infrastructure.
- Enhance Community Health and Wellbeing via clean water initiatives, health workshops, and mental health awareness campaigns.
Target Beneficiaries:
- 2,000+ community members across 10 villages in Zanzibar.
- 500+ youth and women enrolled in vocational and entrepreneurship programs.
- 1,200 students benefiting from upgraded schools and educational support.
- 3,000+ trees planted and 5 environmental cooperatives formed.

- Tailored training in tailoring, carpentry, solar panel installation, and small business management.
- Micro-grants and business mentorship for women and youth entrepreneurs.

- Distribution of reusable sanitary kits for 600 girls.
- Monthly health workshops in collaboration with local clinics.
